We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Diesel Mechanic Trainee to join our team at Loves Travel Stops & Country Stores. As a Diesel Mechanic Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting our experienced technicians in maintaining and repairing diesel engines, as well as learning the skills necessary to become a certified diesel mechanic.
Key Responsibilities- Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines
- Learn and perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations
- Develop skills in electrical diagnostics and repairs, air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs, and other areas of diesel engine repair
- Work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with customers and drivers from all over the country
- Participate in on-the-job training and education programs to develop skills and knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in close quarters
- Ability to work in various temperatures and environments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation (paid by Loves)
