Medical Cardiology Specialist

About the RoleWe are seeking a Medical Cardiology Specialist to join our team at Ascension Sacred Heart. As a medical professional, you will be responsible for assisting with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician or advanced practice provider.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with treatments ordered by the provider as supervised by the provider or registered nurse;
- Performing select clinical duties;
- Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patients' charts;
- Preparing treatment rooms for examination of patients;
- Performing basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing;
- Performing basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies;
- Assisting with maintaining a clean and orderly environment;
In addition to these responsibilities, you may also be required to:
- Document the provider's encounter with patients;
- List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider;
- Transcribe patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications;
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A valid BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted;
- A Medical Assistant certification obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date;
- A High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience;
