Position Summary

The Healthcare Revenue Cycle Specialist will assist management in optimizing, processing, and evaluating the billing and collection of accounts receivables (AR), as well as addressing complex payer challenges. This role encompasses staff training, conducting analytical assessments, generating reports, and providing operational support across all facets of the revenue cycle. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage assigned projects to achieve defined goals and objectives.
  • Gather and analyze revenue cycle-related data for special initiatives.
  • Contribute to the formulation of billing office policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Examine AR reports to identify account issues and develop/monitor projects based on findings, collaborating with relevant teams to enhance reimbursement.
  • Conduct revenue cycle operations training for new staff, covering software and tools utilized in the process.
  • Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions, including preparing performance reports for management.
  • Advise management on issues affecting revenue cycle operations, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Perform audits as directed by the Revenue Cycle Manager.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the revenue cycle process for various stakeholders.
  • Oversee vendor performance to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement reconciliation.
  • Facilitate meetings with management to discuss trends or discrepancies in the revenue cycle.
  • Promote and exemplify excellent customer service skills, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Enhance patient experience through courteous and accurate service.
  • Instill confidence in our care and facilities among patients and staff.
  • Develop and maintain an action plan to enhance the front office training program.
  • Foster strong relationships with Learning & Development, Operations, and Billing Departments to streamline workflows and gather feedback.
  • Collaborate with Front Office Supervisors and Managers to implement ongoing training initiatives.
  • Monitor system operations to ensure effective front office and billing processes.
  • Serve as a resource for staff regarding policies, procedures, and funding sources.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding client, staff, and organizational information.
  • Operate at the highest level according to credentials and competencies.
  • Contribute to organizational success by engaging in quality improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in medical or FQHC billing is required.
  • Two years of project management experience is preferred.
  • Certification from the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Compensation

Salary range: $70,200-$91,520 based on experience.
