Pathology Assistant

Cambridge Health Alliance is seeking a highly skilled Pathology Assistant to join our team. As a Pathology Assistant, you will play a critical role in the preparation of human surgical specimens and perform other assigned duties to ensure optimal patient care and the safety and efficiency of the Pathology Department.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately and efficiently provide gross descriptions of all surgical specimens
- Prepare and process tissue samples for histopathological examination
- Perform frozen sections with staining and delivery of frozen section slides within the acceptable time limits
- Provide high-quality photographs of gross specimens and microscopic slides
- Deliver tissue, hardware, or other foreign bodies to doctors' offices or directly to patients as needed
- Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in biomedical or health sciences
- Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologist's Assistant program
- Current certification as a Pathologist's Assistant through the American Society for Clinical Pathology
- 3 or more years of experience in a clinical pathology setting
- Dictation experience and proficiency in voice recognition software
- Knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, and laboratory safety protocols
