Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute complex assignments based on verbal directives.
  • Collaborate closely with design originators and Project Managers.
  • Keep Project Manager(s) informed about the progress of assigned tasks and request additional resources as necessary.
  • Propose design modifications that require sound judgment and discretion.
  • Adapt to various work and team assignments.
  • Investigate and apply regulatory standards and design guidelines.
  • Assess drawings for thoroughness.
  • Evaluate sketches, notes, and other materials to determine the optimal approach for developing designs with minimal oversight.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in civil engineering with a focus on Conveyance Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in civil works design projects.
  • Experience with federal design projects for USACE.
  • Background in a multi-discipline work environment.
  • Experience providing construction support services for civil works initiatives.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards (e.g., International Building Code, UFCs).
  • A proactive approach with a strong inclination for independent initiative and creative problem-solving.
  • Experience with standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams) and review tools (Bluebeam).
  • Possession of a Top Secret Security Clearance.
Work Environment:
This position is based in a professional office setting with a noise level that is generally low to moderate. The role involves routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

The job is primarily conducted indoors, typical of standard office roles, and may require the incumbent to stand, walk, sit, and use hands for various tasks. The workload may necessitate prolonged periods of sitting. The individual must be capable of reading, performing basic math calculations, and managing moderate stress levels.

Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 25 lbs may be required. Specific vision capabilities necessary for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
