Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Civil Defense Specialist IV. This role will play a critical part in the development, review, and maintenance of plans and procedures for emergency response and disaster operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain emergency plans, procedures, and checklists for various functional areas of the civil defense program.
  • Coordinate and integrate plans and procedures with public and private agencies and organizations.
  • Provide training and education to emergency response personnel and volunteers.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify and mitigate hazards and disasters.
  • Develop and maintain operational plans for emergency communications and siren warning systems.
  • Oversee the maintenance, replacement, and upgrade of communication and computer equipment and systems.
  • Coordinate damage assessment procedures, disaster assistance procedures, and recovery operations procedures.
  • Participate in the research, procurement, and administration of grants.
  • Participate in meetings and conferences on emergency management and preparedness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Three years of full-time professional level experience in the development and maintenance of plans and procedures for one or more functional areas of the civil defense emergency management program.
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license (Type 3).
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work after hours, weekends, and holidays as required.
