Job Responsibilities

The Direct Support Professional 2 will provide support and assistance in Level 2 residential programs. This includes helping individuals with daily intervention, supervision, and skills training in activities of daily living within a home environment and in the community.

Staff will receive specialized training to provide enhanced supervision or interventions designed to address multiple disabilities, including behavioral support or enhanced medical care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support and assistance with skills training in all activities of daily living.
  2. Create opportunities for individuals to develop their skills and foster independence.
  3. Provide services according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards, as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.
  4. Support individuals with medical, clinical, and financial needs.
  5. Transport and accompany individuals as needed to and from medical, recreational, and other activities outside the program.
  6. Maintain required documentation according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.
  7. Assist individuals with accessing resources and recreational opportunities in the community.
  8. Administer medications according to MAP regulations, as applicable.
  9. Maintain core training certifications including FA/CPR, PABC, and MAP.
  10. Maintain other additional required training and certifications as required by the program.
  11. Develop positive relationships with guardians, family members, and other stakeholders.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A high school diploma or GED.
  2. A minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities.
  3. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  4. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  5. A valid driver's license and one year of driving experience.
  6. Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft products and web-based applications used by the agency.
