The General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) team is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer II to support our clients in the US government, defense, and intelligence community. This role requires a strong understanding of information security principles and practices, as well as experience working with Special Access Programs (SAPs).

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled ISSO II to join our team and provide day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. The successful candidate will work closely with the ISSM and ISO to ensure the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for an information system.

About the Role:

The ISSO II will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the ISSM in meeting their duties and responsibilities
  • Preparing, reviewing, and updating authorization packages
  • Ensuring approved procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying various types of hardware and media
  • Notifying the ISSM when changes occur that might affect the authorization determination of the information system(s)
  • Conducting periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package
  • Coordinating any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to the change
  • Monitoring system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly
  • Ensuring all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals
  • Ensuring audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented (to include any anomalies)
  • Attending required technical and security training (e.g., operating system, networking, security management) relative to assigned duties
  • Executing the cyber security portion of the self-inspection, to include providing security coordination and review of all system assessment plans
  • Identifying cyber security vulnerabilities and assisting with the implementation of countermeasures for them
  • Preparing reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems
  • Performing ISSO duties in support of in-house and external customers
  • Conducting security impact analysis activities and providing to the ISSM on all configuration management changes to the authorization boundaries

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of related experience
  • SAP experience required
  • Prior performance in roles such as System, Network Administrator, or ISSO
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (4 years)
  • IAT Level II or IAM Level II - within 6 months of hire (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.)
  • TS/SCI required
  • Able to attain TS/SCI with CI Polygraph

Salary and Benefits:

This position offers a salary range of $89,930 - $121,670 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes a variety of medical plan options, some with Health Savings Accounts, dental plan options, a vision plan, and a 401(k) plan offering the ability to contribute both pre and post-tax dollars up to the IRS annual limits and receive a company match.
