Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and ensure the integrity of process safety information, conduct thorough hazard analyses, and implement robust mechanical integrity protocols.
  • Lead the management of Dust Hazard Analysis, providing strategic recommendations for safety improvements.
  • Supervise thermal safety and pressure vessel programs, including the identification of necessary safety devices and the establishment of inspection and maintenance schedules.
  • Oversee emergency response strategies and business continuity plans, including the training and management of a dedicated emergency response team.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company guidelines across various safety management programs.
  • Foster a culture of safety by supporting a team of HSES professionals, tracking safety compliance, and managing recognition programs.
  • Establish and monitor HSES goals and metrics, actively participating in daily operational meetings.
  • Conduct audits and risk assessments, utilizing a hierarchy of controls to mitigate identified risks.
  • Monitor incidents related to Significant Injury or Fatality (SIF) and support investigations using established root cause analysis tools.
  • Facilitate new hire and annual HSES training initiatives.
Qualifications
  • A degree in occupational safety or a related field is required.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant safety experience, preferably within a manufacturing context.
  • Proficient in developing and communicating HSES policies and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA and OSHA regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of training diverse groups and delivering impactful presentations.
  • Technical proficiency, critical thinking, and strong problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism in all aspects of work.
  • Experience with ISO/NIOSH Management Systems is advantageous.
  • Safety-related certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, CIH) are preferred.
