Activity Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Activity Coordinator to join our team at The Terrace of St. Cloud. As an Activity Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing activity programs that promote the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the planning and development of activity programs that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents.
- Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure seamless execution and adequate resources.
- Implement and facilitate activities, ensuring timely start and smooth execution.
- Involve residents and families in planning facility activity programs, promoting resident-centered care.
- Remind staff and residents of scheduled activities, ensuring everyone is informed and engaged.
- Assist in transporting residents to and from activity areas, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Follow instructions and protocols for activity implementation, reporting any issues or concerns to the Activity Director.
- Document resident responses to activities, providing valuable insights for future program development.
- Be aware of residents' cognitive, emotional, and psychological impairments, adapting activities accordingly.
- Interact with residents, families, and visitors in a respectful and professional manner, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and active AHCA Background Screening Status required.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Leadership skills and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Knowledge of activity practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care facilities.
- Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, with the ability to handle residents with varying maturity levels.
Works in office areas and throughout the facility, moving intermittently during working hours. Frequent interruptions and interactions with residents, personnel, visitors, and government agencies are expected. May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, and visitors. Attends and participates in continuing educational programs, including OSHA and CDC in-service training programs.
