We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at Saint Alphonsus Health System. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a vital role in providing pharmaceutical care to our patients by assisting pharmacists in preparing prescriptions and performing various tasks related to dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist pharmacists in preparing prescriptions, including material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.
- Ensure the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to patients.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Understand the limitations of performing certain responsibilities of a registered technician in dispensing medications and remain within the scope of practice.
- Maintain competency to work in the IV room, including performing hazardous compounding.
- Provide functional supervision of technicians and assist pharmacists in preparing medications.
- Precept new hires and technician students, and mentor technicians in learning new tasks.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician required.
- Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Tech with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy or Oregon Board of Pharmacy based on state worked.
- National Certification (CPhT, ExCPT or equivalent) required.
