We are seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team at Ascension Via Christi. As a key member of our inpatient pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients.
Responsibilities- Assure the appropriate selection, dosing, and administration of medication orders to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Review and assess medication orders to identify potential and actual drug-related problems, and recommend formulary alternatives when necessary.
- Compound and dispense medications accurately and efficiently to meet patient needs.
- Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients to promote informed decision-making and improved health outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other clinicians to facilitate care and ensure seamless transitions.
- Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies.
- Assist with academic functions, such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students, to support the development of future healthcare professionals.
- Provide patient counseling and education to ensure patients understand their medication regimens and can manage their health effectively.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong foundation in pharmacy practice, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
