Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Hospice Services team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality personal care services to our patients and their families, promoting their comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional and physical support to terminally ill individuals and their families/significant others.
  • Assist in improving the terminally ill individual's quality of life during the final stage of life.
  • Provide respite care to families and significant others who are caring for terminally ill individuals in the home.
  • Maintain and promote the independence of the patient and family, and assist in maintaining a safe, healthful environment.
  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Group meetings as appropriate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal care activities, including bathing, mouth care, skin care, foot care, grooming, transferring, dressing, and undressing.
  • Assist with household tasks directly essential to the patient's health, including meal planning, preparation, and assistance with feeding, light housekeeping, and laundry.
  • Measure and record oral, rectal, axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered.
  • Meet safety needs of patients, including safe use of equipment.
  • Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extension of therapy services as ordered.
  • Assist patients with self-administration of medication, reminding them to take their medications.
  • Perform or assist patients to perform activities in accordance with the personal services care plan.
Requirements
  • Completion of state recognized and federally compliant training program and/or competency evaluation.
  • At least six-months experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Compliant with in-service regulations and requirements.
