Seasonal Emergency Department Nurse

Job Summary
We are seeking a Seasonal Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for performing assessments, developing a plan of care, and implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments on a regular basis
- Perform a triage assessment with rapid data collection related to medical and traumatic emergencies
- Assess injury causation and assure neglect or abuse is reported to the appropriate agency for intervention
- Formulate a plan of care with interdisciplinary team members, including expected outcomes for each assigned patient
- Properly verify, document, and administer medication
- Provide health care teaching to patients and families along with appropriate documentation
- Evaluate the patient's progression towards attainment of outcomes, and document the effectiveness of interventions
Requirements
- 1 year of Emergency Department experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
- NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- Registered Nurse
- Associate Degree
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
- Trauma Nursing Core Course, or TNCC Instructor must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
