Key Responsibilities:
As a Data Scientist, you will engage in various tasks that leverage your expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in NLP programming.
- Proficiency in fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs) or developing language models from the ground up.
- Strong foundation in NLP and machine learning, preferably with degrees in computer science, information retrieval, statistics, applied mathematics, or related quantitative fields.
- Proven history of publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
- Experience in developing innovative algorithms.
- Familiarity with deep learning, particularly in phonetics (preferred).
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: entity/relation extraction, information extraction, summarization, semantics, document classification, ontology, question answering, and knowledge graphs.
- Knowledge of modern deep learning techniques for NLP, including word/paragraph embeddings, structured prediction, sentiment analysis, and disambiguation.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Data Science with a specialization in NLP is valued.
- Experience with BERT models and open-source foundational LLMs such as LLAMA, Falcon, or Mistral.
- Ability to indirectly manage peers within problem-solving teams.
- Experience in teaching NLP algorithms to both novice and advanced Data Scientists.
- Familiarity with large-scale data analysis tools such as Spark and Hadoop.
- Background in machine learning methodologies.
- Proficiency in NLP programming using R and/or Python/Anaconda.
- Experience in transferring large datasets across Hadoop, SQL, and ORACLE.
- Strong foundation in statistical learning techniques for NLP (HMMs, CRFs, SVMs, LDA, LSI, MRFs).
- Experience in implementing ML/NLP algorithms and modifying standard algorithms as needed.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range:
$70/hr - $75/hr on W2.
