Sandis is seeking a dedicated Survey Technician for our team. The ideal candidate should possess a collaborative spirit, be capable of working autonomously, and demonstrate self-motivation, particularly enjoying early morning shifts (6am – 3:00pm) with potential for additional hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and ensure precision in various survey types, including construction staking, As-Builts, ALTA, topographic, boundary, and subdivision surveys.
  • Accurately read and mark stakes in a clear and legible manner.
  • Mentor junior apprentices in the operation of survey instruments (Leica), surveying techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Execute tasks as directed by the Party Chief or Project Manager.
  • Report any irregularities observed in the field to the Party Chief.
  • Maintain survey instruments, ensuring they are clean and functional.
  • Interpret and analyze construction drawings and maps.

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license from the state.
  • Completion or enrollment in an apprenticeship program, maintaining good standing within the union.
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management capabilities.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to:
    • Lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Navigate rough and uneven terrain while carrying survey equipment.
    • Move through confined and cluttered spaces.
    • Stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours.
    • Utilize hands for grasping and arms for reaching.

Upon hiring, candidates may be subject to random drug testing in accordance with federal, state, and client regulations. Continued employment is contingent upon meeting project-specific criteria.
