Power, a prominent player in the Renewable Energy & Solar sector, is on the lookout for a dedicated Roofing Technician. In this position, you will be instrumental in our goal to 'Attract the Best Nerds to Nerdify the Planet' by installing and maintaining solar energy systems, performing thorough site assessments, and supporting roofing initiatives to guarantee optimal solar energy efficiency and roof durability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage professionally with clients during initial interactions and phone communications.
- Work collaboratively with scheduling and permitting teams, adhering to provided guidelines.
- Carry out comprehensive site evaluations using company-issued tools, documenting findings with photographs via mobile applications.
- Independently conduct site assessment tasks and participate in field inspections, following directives from inspectors.
- Commission solar energy systems and confirm their operational efficiency, while strictly observing safety protocols.
- Support roofing projects, which include roof inspections, providing cost estimates, measuring and cutting materials, and ensuring proper installation of insulation and vapor barriers.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Fundamental understanding of residential electrical and structural systems.
- High School diploma or Trade School certification in a construction-related field.
- Valid Driver's license with the ability to travel to various job sites.
- Physical capability to lift heavy materials, ascend ladders, and work at heights.
- Strong organizational skills for managing both paper and electronic documentation.
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting survey and permit documentation.
- Familiarity with mobile applications and basic computer proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 10 Certification.
- Knowledge of NEC codes, particularly regarding residential photovoltaic installations, is advantageous.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working on roofing projects.
