Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CT Technologist II to join our team at Houston Methodist. As a CT Technologist II, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic CT procedures, including common and special exams of high difficulty. You will work independently, exercising sound judgment and executing above-average clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures and patient care situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic radiology procedures, including CT exams, to produce high-quality images of tissue densities through the patient's body.
  • Assist physicians during diagnostic or special CT procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level, utilizing verbal and non-verbal skills, terminology, and language.
  • Follow safety standards and conduct all imaging procedures accordingly, using ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to protect patients, staff, and the general public.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure strong communication, ease of access to information, and a seamless experience for patients and families.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations section.
  • Three years of experience as a CT Technologist.
  • ARRT-R - Radiologic Technologist - Radiographer (ARRT) or equivalent certification.
  • Basic Life Support (AHA) certification.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle challenging/difficult diagnostic procedures and patient care situations, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal and team player skills with all levels of the healthcare team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
