Job Summary

As a key member of our culinary team, the Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing the daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality of food products, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage kitchen shift operations, ensuring compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Estimate daily production needs and communicate production needs to kitchen personnel daily.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with all kitchen operations and preparation.
  • Prepare and cook foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes.
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
  • Lead shifts while personally preparing food items and executing requests based on required specifications.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
