The specialist will engage in the development and validation of innovative procedures and tests, maintaining necessary regulatory documentation and participating in quality control and quality assurance activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain genomics instrumentation, ensuring accurate data acquisition for patient and research samples.
• Conduct calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Prepare and maintain necessary reagents for genomic analysis.
• Analyze data and document results in accordance with laboratory protocols.
• Execute tests using various methodologies, including automated and manual techniques.
• Archive and retrieve samples for long-term storage and further testing.
• Ensure timely production and documentation of processing data, meeting established turnaround times.
• Identify and resolve issues related to instruments, reagents, and systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment as required.
Quality Assurance and Regulatory Responsibilities:
• Conduct quality control duties and document QC/QA activities as per established policies.
• Participate in the validation of new instruments and methodologies.
• Continuously assess existing processes for improvement opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of procedures and data, both manually and electronically.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Promote safety compliance and participate in required safety training.
• Organize and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently, minimizing waste.
• Assist colleagues in the laboratory as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science, Medical Technology, or a related field is required.
• No prior experience is necessary, though experience in a molecular biology research laboratory is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment and safety protocols.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
