Position Overview:
As an Advanced MRI Technologist, you will operate magnetic resonance imaging systems to create detailed cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic evaluation.

Working under the guidance of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, you will exercise independent judgment and creativity to perform essential technological functions, ensuring the highest quality of diagnostic imaging while adhering to safe and efficient practices.


Key Responsibilities:
Conduct patient imaging studies following established protocols, including the proper placement of coils near the area of interest.

Utilize imaging equipment effectively to deliver high-quality diagnostic services, which involves inputting commands for scan sequences, adjusting imaging parameters, and managing data entry for image capture.

Engage with patients to explain MRI procedures, addressing any concerns with professionalism and courtesy while maintaining a calm and respectful demeanor.

Prioritize safety for both patients and staff by clearly communicating safety protocols, ensuring the removal of hazardous materials, and monitoring patients through surveillance systems.

Facilitate the onboarding and training of new MRI Technologists, students, and trainees. Provide guidance and mentorship to MRI Technologists I in MRI techniques. In the absence of supervisory personnel, you may be called upon to oversee and train other MRI staff members. Perform additional related duties as required.

Supervisory Duties:
This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:
Experience:
  • A minimum of two years of continuous, recent experience as an MRI Technologist, demonstrating proficiency in all responsibilities associated with the role.

Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • California Venipuncture Certificate (to be obtained within six months of hire).
  • CRT Certification.
  • California Radiologic Technologist License.
  • BLS Certification required.

Additional Skills:
  • Proven ability to train and mentor other Technologists.
  • Capability to lead and instruct MRI staff as needed.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MRI protocols and procedures.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information in both individual and small group settings.
Must be open to working within a Labor Management Partnership environment.
  • Refer to Position Specifications as outlined in the relevant collective bargaining agreement.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ARRT certification is preferred.
