Job Title: LVN / Licensed Vocational NurseAbout the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at ResCare Community Living. As a LVN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with intellectual, developmental, or cognitive disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized care to clients, following their personalized care plans and promoting their dignity and independence.
  • Monitor clients' vital signs and report any abnormalities to the case manager and physician.
  • Administer medications, feedings, oxygen, and other treatments as needed, and document the results.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Implement infection control policies and procedures, and report any possible communicable diseases or infections.
  • Accurately document nursing actions, communicate with family members, case managers, and physicians, and inform them of any changes in clients' medical conditions or needs.
  • Order supplies, medications, and feedings as needed, and ensure that all patient needs are met in accordance with physician instructions.
  • Monitor incidents involving individuals, complete incident reports, and inform case managers of any incidents.
  • Ensure that all medical equipment is maintained and report any faulty equipment to the Durable Medical Equipment department for repair.
Requirements:
  • Current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in good standing from the state(s) of practice.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
  • Ability to work in a home-like setting.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, sit, and walk for periods of time.
  • Able to utilize proper body mechanics while lifting 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of individual service plans, including understanding of client rights and health needs.
  • Must have completed post-secondary coursework to facilitate licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
