Your primary responsibilities will include providing direct patient care, ensuring patient comfort and privacy during procedures, and operating equipment such as the Hologic Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) machine to obtain accurate readings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and support in Radiology clinics
  • Ensure patient comfort and privacy during procedures
  • Operate equipment such as the Hologic DEXA machine to obtain accurate readings
  • Perform quality assurance checks and assist in coordinating patient flow
  • Participate in outpatient care procedures and recognize and respond to abnormal signs and symptoms or emergencies

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate from a secondary, post-secondary or adult education program
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Hold current CA certification to perform bone densitometry or current enrollment in a CA limited permit certificate program for DEXA operator
  • BLS certificate from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Ability to obtain accurate vital signs and drug refills
  • Ability to perform sterile technique
  • Demonstrates competence in the preparation, setup, and scanning of all age groups
  • Familiarity with EPIC (EHR/EMR system)
  • Knowledge of normal and abnormal symptomatology and life-threatening medical problems
