Overview

As a vital member of Huntington Steel & Supply, the individual will take on the dual role of Project Manager and Estimator, focusing on the successful execution of projects while ensuring accurate cost assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management Duties:
  • Support senior project managers in overseeing all facets of assigned projects.
  • Assist in evaluating project proposals to establish timelines, budget constraints, and methodologies for project execution.
  • Help develop a systematic workflow utilizing project management software.
  • Participate in meetings with general contractors to discuss project progress.
  • Contribute to the creation of operational plans for various project phases, including drawings, materials, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Assist in defining roles and responsibilities for key project areas.
  • Aid in formulating detailed plans for project timelines, sequences, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate activities to ensure projects adhere to established milestones and budgetary guidelines.
  • Monitor material usage and project modifications.
  • Assist in tracking labor hours and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Facilitate communication between detailing and project management teams.
  • Process Requests for Information (RFIs) promptly and maintain a comprehensive log.
  • Continuously assess project status and adjust schedules as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate job history records.
  • Coordinate shipping logistics and associated costs.
  • Manage multiple projects with varying scales and complexities.
  • Prepare and submit invoices or payment requests as needed.
Estimating Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Estimating Manager to prepare comprehensive estimates for large-scale projects based on client specifications.
  • Conduct material take-offs using various software tools to generate accurate summaries for review.
  • Draft detailed quote documentation for client presentations.
Detailing Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the creation of 3D models and detailed drawings for fabrication and installation.
  • Develop the ability to interpret technical documents and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Utilize detailing software to produce shop and assembly drawings.
  • Understand the process of managing detailing data for tracking purposes.
General Requirements:
  • Proficient in mathematical calculations and data analysis.
  • Skilled in using various software applications relevant to project management and estimating.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED with relevant experience is acceptable.
