Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the workflow of mammography technologists, ensuring efficient and effective operation of the department.
- Provide guidance and oversight to staff members, resolving routine and complex problems and ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Monitor the quality and quantity of work, ensuring that diagnostic procedures are performed according to department standards.
- Recommend personnel actions, including performance appraisals, hiring decisions, and disciplinary actions.
- Assist with monitoring performance improvement plans and ensure compliance with laws, government regulations, and DMC policies.
- Implement external and internal audit recommendations as directed.
Qualifications:
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography (M).
- Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Two or more years of progressively more responsible mammography technologist work experience.
Skills Required:
- Analytical and clinical skills to determine the most appropriate method of providing radiographs specific to patient needs.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and hospital personnel.
- Technical knowledge to operate specialized equipment and computers.
- Ability to work productively and effectively in a complex environment, handling multiple priorities.
- Knowledge and understanding of American College of Radiology requirements for accreditation.
- Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
Additional Requirements:
- Gather and interpret data to identify discrepancies, problems, or issues.
- Use discretion in communication and provide conflict resolution when necessary.
- Leadership skills, including decision-making, coaching, teaching, and counseling.
