Job Summary

MITRE is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will apply model-based systems engineering concepts and approaches to real-world problems. Your expertise in developing and assessing intricate systems engineering challenges using industry-standard languages such as SysML/UML will be invaluable to our team.

Key Responsibilities

Apply analytical approach to support difficult policy and capability decisions
Identify and articulate major uncertainties, risks, and opportunities, and devise strategies to mitigate and capitalize on them
Partner closely with MITRE staff on applying modeling expertise to various challenges
Present results in an intuitive, actionable manner understandable by all sponsor audiences

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field with 2 years of related experience; or a Master's degree with equivalent experience
Ability to obtain & maintain U.S. security clearance TS/SCI
Evidence of knowledge of model-based systems engineering principles, concepts, methods, and tools
Proficiency in model-based systems engineering (MBSE), digital engineering, and system-of-systems architecture
Knowledge of tools and methodologies commonly used in systems engineering

Preferred Qualifications

BS and 5 years of related experience or MS with 3 years of related experience, or PhD in a STEM field
Active TS/SCI level security clearance
Experience in using tools and techniques for modeling, optimization, probability modeling, and simulation
Familiarity with DoD organization and missions, operational environments and threats
Knowledge of systems engineering standards and frameworks, and DoD acquisition and requirements processes
Understanding of emerging technologies and trends in systems engineering
Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
