Position Summary

The Plumbing Technician will be tasked with the installation, maintenance, inspection, operation, and repair of plumbing systems in residential properties. Responsibilities include installing and repairing plumbing fixtures such as sinks and toilets, as well as appliances like dishwashers and garbage disposals. We provide on-the-job training and annual salary increases based on skill development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform plumbing, drain cleaning, and related service calls in clients' homes.
  • Deliver expert service to clients, ensuring their plumbing systems are functioning optimally.
  • Maintain a tidy work area and use floor savers while in clients' homes.
  • Clearly communicate the services being performed to clients, demonstrating our commitment to superior service.
  • Build rapport with customers to recommend appropriate products and services.
  • Thoroughly check all repairs and installations before leaving to ensure quality work.
  • Assist clients in selecting the best financing options and maintenance plans.
  • Exhibit professionalism and expertise to encourage referrals and repeat business.
  • Keep your service vehicle organized and clean, maximizing its visibility as a company advertisement.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of invoices, time cards, and feedback forms.
  • Adhere to the company's Code of Ethics and Team Rules.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site and a well-stocked service vehicle.
  • Prioritize safety on the job and while driving.
  • Engage actively in training sessions, team meetings, and company retreats.
  • Mentor apprentices to facilitate efficient and accurate repairs and installations.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical and trade experience.
  • Current plumbing license required.
  • Extensive knowledge of plumbing system maintenance and repairs.
  • Familiarity with current industry regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills at a technical level.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • General knowledge of power tools and safe operating techniques.
  • Proficient in plumbing troubleshooting and repair.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to climb ladders and operate equipment.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Consistently able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and carry it up to 250 feet unassisted.
  • Experience operating handheld power tools.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Willingness to work more than 40 hours per week, including extended hours.

Work Environment:

  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work on concrete and uneven surfaces for extended periods.
  • May need to navigate awkward environments while carrying necessary equipment.
  • Exposure to odors associated with plumbing work, as well as sounds from power tools and construction sites.
