Position SummaryThe Lead Technician position is a key role in our team, requiring a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills to diagnose and repair complex automotive systems. As a Lead Technician, you will be responsible for mentoring and training junior technicians, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and satisfaction.
Our technicians enjoy a performance-based compensation model known as flat-rate pay, which rewards our skilled professionals with a predetermined amount for each eligible task. This system fosters a culture of efficiency and swift task accomplishment, ensuring that our technicians are fairly rewarded for their expertise and dedication.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair complex automotive systems, including brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
- Provide clear and concise explanations of technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
- Stay current with rapidly changing automotive technology through continuous paid formal training.
- Assist and train technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
- Maintain a valid automobile driver's license at all times and be able to drive customer and company vehicles.
- Meet the minimum 5 years of automotive repair experience, completion of Vocational-Technical School program in a related field, or demonstrated skills via third-party certificates/assessment.
- A.S.E. certification in at least 5 (five) of A1-A8 (L1 can be one of the five) is required.
- Maintain Federal, State, and Local certification/license where applicable.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people.
- Reading, writing, and math skills.
