Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at San Jose Arena Management LP. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests, employees, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Access Control: Continuously monitor and control building access, preventing unauthorized entry and activities.
  • Surveillance: Monitor video surveillance systems and oversee various computer-related tasks.
  • Electronic Access Control: Monitor and manage electronic access control systems, opening doors, creating accounts, and assigning access.
  • Screening: Conduct thorough screening using metal detectors, hand wands, and x-ray units.
  • Log Maintenance: Regularly maintain various registers and security logs.
  • Facility Patrol: Regularly patrol the facility by walking and climbing stairs.
  • Safety and Security: Identify and correct safety and security issues, escalating them as needed to the Security Supervisor.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service experiences to enhance the guest experience.
  • Communication: Handle radios, speak clearly and professionally, and demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Safety Policies: Follow safety and security policies, programs, and procedures, and manage high-pressure situations.
  • Life Safety Systems: Operate vehicle gates, fire alarms, and other life safety systems.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with San Jose Emergency Services as needed.
Shift Information
  • Shift Lengths: Shift lengths vary depending on business needs and can be up to 8 hours any day and time of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Availability: You must be available to work 2/3rds of the scheduled events for each month, including weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Age: Must be 18 years or older.
  • Uniform: Must be able to wear SSE-assigned uniform during all shifts.
  • Availability: Ability to work various shifts, weekends, possibly holidays, and nights.
  • Experience: Prior security experience preferred.
  • Guard Card: Valid California Guard Card preferred.
  • Background Check: Must clear background check with no felony convictions.
  • De-escalation: Must have the ability to de-escalate situations.
Physical Requirements
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to operate, transport, and manipulate certain equipment up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead, and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation.
  • Facility Navigation: Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation.
  • Stair Climbing: Must be able to go up and down stairs multiple times in a shift.
  • Standing: Must be able to stand for long periods of time inside and outside.
  • Bilingual: Extra points if you are Bilingual.
