Marcum LLP is seeking a highly skilled Tax Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Northeast Ohio. As a key member of our Tax & Business Services practice, you will be responsible for providing exceptional tax planning and advisory services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies for clients to minimize tax liabilities and maximize financial returns.
  • Prepare complex tax returns with minimal supervision and ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Review and analyze tax returns prepared by others, identifying errors, omissions, and planning opportunities.
  • Provide tax advisory services to clients, including research and analysis of complex tax matters.
  • Communicate engagement needs to clients and identify opportunities for extended services.
  • Stay up-to-date on professional announcements and participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Present on technical topics for training and development purposes.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with clients and staff.
Requirements
  • Strong communication, research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Proven technical skills with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with accounting software, ProSystem fx Engagement preferred.
  • Solid organization skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • 4+ years tax experience in public accounting.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university (minimum of 150 college credits required).
  • Masters in Taxation is a plus.
  • CPA certification or completion of the CPA exam within a year preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and auditing/tax standards to effectively supervise staff and solve routine engagement problems.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent same-day travel for work at client offices, meetings, and seminars using a personal vehicle.
  • Occasional out-of-town travel with overnight stays for work at clients, meetings, or seminars using a personal vehicle.
  • Occasional overtime work required throughout the year, with heavy overtime work required from January to April 15.
