Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support our client, a global automotive OEM, in Smyrna, Tennessee.

About the Role:

This program-based assignment will be located at our client's facility and will work directly with their Facility Engineering and Project Management team and vendors to provide leadership and administration for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares drawings in accordance with standard technical specifications and assists in design development of mechanical and electrical industrial facilities systems.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of AutoCAD and file storage systems, as well as ability to edit manual drawings.
  • Working effectively in the manufacturing environment collecting data, developing, and implementing design solutions, creating specification, and requisitions for contracted services.
  • Coordinating outside contracted support services and maintaining effective working relationships with Operations, Maintenance, and Safety personnel.
  • Applies basic engineering principles in the area of discipline during the development of design solutions.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Associates degree in a related discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience as determined by department manager.
  • 5 or more years design or drafting experience or equivalent as determined by department management.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and skills to complex problems, coordinate work beyond own area of expertise.
  • Advanced knowledge of discipline specific principles, standards, and codes related to manufacturing, equipment, and health and safety.
  • Ability to project manage small-scale projects, controlling cost, schedule, and the overall performance of the design solution.

In addition to the above requirements, we are looking for someone who:

  • Has developed depth and breadth of knowledge and skills in own discipline or area.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform project assignments that are large in scope and have a high degree of complexity.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package. ResourceTek is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
