We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Psychiatrist to join our team at the Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad, CA. As a key member of our Interdisciplinary Treatment Team, you will provide general population outpatient services to inmates, working closely with other psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric social workers to deliver comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform psychiatric evaluations and participate in treatment planning and case reviews
- Prescribe medications and provide crisis intervention and psychotherapy
- Consult and train clinical and custody staff on treatment approaches
- Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to deliver high-quality care
- Must possess a valid certificate in psychiatry issued by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry
- Must have a valid license to practice medicine in California
- Must have experience working in a correctional setting or a similar environment
