Department Assistant, Nursing

We are seeking a skilled Department Assistant to join our team at Emory Midtown Hospital. As a key member of our nursing unit, you will provide administrative support to management, ensuring the smooth operation of our department.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and update daily staff schedules to optimize productivity and efficiency.
- Review and verify unit time records for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
- Identify clerical staffing needs and provide training and guidance to employees, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering department telephones, greeting visitors, and responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date departmental files, ensuring easy access to critical information.
- Coordinate routine equipment maintenance and repairs, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Three years of clerical or secretarial experience, with a minimum of one year in a hospital or healthcare environment.
- One year of computer experience, including proficiency in word processing, database management, or spreadsheet applications.
