Department Assistant, Nursing

Emory Healthcare is seeking a skilled Department Assistant to join our team at Emory Midtown Hospital. As a key member of our nursing department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality of care and safety of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide administrative support to nursing unit management, including developing and updating daily staff schedules.
- Collect and review unit time records for accuracy, completeness, and procedural compliance.
- Identify clerical staffing needs and provide training and guidance to employees.
- Answer department telephones and greet visitors according to departmental procedure.
- Set up, organize, and maintain various departmental files according to established procedures.
- Post daily schedules in designated locations and file and maintain schedules for future reference.
- Check equipment to ensure it is operating properly and communicate maintenance requirements to the appropriate staff.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Three years of clerical or secretarial experience, including one year in a hospital or healthcare environment.
- One year of computer experience, including experience with word processing, database management, or spreadsheet applications.
