Role Overview

As a Founding Engineer at Pear VC, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our technical direction and driving innovation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and scaling our GPU infrastructure for real-time AI performance
  • Engaging directly with customers to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions
  • Contributing significantly to our architectural roadmap and technical strategy
  • Providing technical leadership to support and grow our engineering and product teams
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • At least 2 years of experience in contributing to the architecture and design of resilient, large-scale distributed systems
  • A strong understanding of public cloud features, including SDN, block storage, distributed file systems, and identity management
  • Proficiency in IaC technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Nomad, Terraform, and Firecracker
  • A solid grasp of standard Observability tools, such as Grafana and Prometheus
Nice-to-Haves

While not essential, prior experience in the following areas would be beneficial:

  • Working with GPUs and CUDA
  • End-to-end ML application development, including data engineering, model tuning, and model serving
  • A track record of delivering high-impact business results in a fast-paced environment
