Overview

The Construction Project Coordinator will oversee all phases of design-build and engineer-procure-construct projects. This role includes the management and administration of the primary contract, as well as supervising the engineering, design, procurement, scheduling, and construction management teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate integrated Design-Build (DB) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) teams from project initiation to completion.
  • Provide overall guidance and coordination of engineering design and construction activities.
  • Administer and manage the primary contract, construction subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Ensure compliance with client objectives regarding safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
  • Plan, execute, and report on overall project performance.
  • Facilitate effective communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and coordination with ongoing jobsite activities.
  • Proactively address and resolve potential disputes.
  • Develop and oversee compliance with project-specific health and safety plans, as well as quality control and assurance measures.
  • Respond to and manage Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Conduct value engineering and constructability assessments.
  • Prepare procurement status reports in collaboration with engineering design, procurement, scheduling, and estimating teams.
  • Oversee subcontractor and supplier scope, pricing, and scheduling documentation.
  • Coordinate local bidding efforts with procurement teams.
  • Review and approve invoices from subcontractors and purchase orders.
  • Monitor the progress of conceptual design, intermediate and final engineering design, and construction activities.
  • Manage changes to the primary contract.
  • Prepare and submit progress payment requests in a timely manner.
  • Generate monthly reports on progress, budget forecasts, and schedule management.
  • Oversee project close-out and warranty administration.
  • Conduct post-construction cost reviews and reporting.
  • Foster positive relationships among project stakeholders, including clients, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members.
  • Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.

5+ years of experience in Construction Project Management, particularly with direct DB/EPC projects in the power delivery sector; demonstrated knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in transmission, distribution, and substation work is preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of the power delivery industry and associated safety and environmental best practices.

Travel Requirements

Willingness to travel as needed, up to 50% of the time, depending on project requirements.
