Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Ascension Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, IL. As a key member of our Cardiac Catheterization Lab, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients.
  • Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity.
  • Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform all specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular, and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures, along with assisting the Radiologist/PA.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required: Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Any specialty accepted. Radiologic Technologist issued by Radiology Tech licensure issued by the Illinois Emergency Mgmt Agency required in combination with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred.
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a 10-hour day shift schedule, plus on-call requirements. The shifts are 7:00am - 5:30pm; 8:00am - 6:30pm; and 8:30am - 7:00pm (on-call shift). Call is fluid about 1-2 nights during the week and about every 4th weekend. Can vary based on staffing.
