About the Role

The Assembly Operator Technician II position is a critical role on the Silgan Dispensing team, offering a great opportunity for those looking to advance their skills. Our plant produces thousands of dispensing products daily, requiring efficient and continuous operation. The Assembly Operator Technician II ensures our equipment runs smoothly by setting up, optimizing production runs, and performing quality checks as needed for each machine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient completion of the assembly process in a high-quality and repeatable manner.
  • Perform duties to complete a wide variety of complicated machine set-ups, including dip tube changes and mechanical parts changes.
  • Perform quality checks/audits during production runs through visual inspection and aligned with the quality plan.
  • Measure, examine, and test assembly units to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions. Adjust machine or fixtures as necessary.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on Assembly machines to maintain production equipment and reduce downtime.
  • Identify efficiency improvement, cost savings, and quality improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in EH&S reviews.
  • Assist with CI activities as needed: root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality inspection results and production results.
  • Ensure outgoing products follow required specifications.
  • Escalate identified safety, quality, performance issues as needed.
  • Perform machine changeovers, including replacing bearings and cams.
  • Generate ideas for continuous improvement and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support on-time delivery by running assembly machines as needed.
Requirements:
  • Basic shop math/computer skills.
  • Basic machine troubleshooting skills/ability to solve mechanical issues.
  • Willingness to assist other cross-functional groups based on needs.
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and report data based on machine performance.
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to learn, grow, and adapt to changing business needs.

Physical Demands:
