As an Associate Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the vision and mission of the organization, delivering excellent customer service, and adhering to Lean processes. You will work cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.

Schedule: This position is full-time (40 hours/week). The office is open 7 days a week, with a 10-hour shift between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. The supervisor will determine the schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to all customers
  • Responsible for greeting patients and checking them in and out, ensuring demographics, including insurance information, are correct in APM and updating as necessary
  • Collect appropriate co-pays and adhere to all cash handling policies
  • Schedule appointments as necessary, verifying correct visit type and primary care provider
  • Responsible for waiting room management, cleanliness, communicating pertinent information to patients, and ensuring all patients have been assisted
  • Work with back office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Resolve service issues and complaints, and defer to appropriate management or clinical personnel when necessary
  • Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • CPR certified OR the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • 1+ years of experience working with computers and computer programs
  • Access to reliable transportation during work hours for job-related tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance programs and basic managed care principles such as referrals and prior authorization
  • Knowledge/understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding
  • Ability to work in an office setting with patient contact during shift

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette

Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for Nevada residents is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
