Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management: Direct and oversee the administration and operation of the Housing Choice Voucher program, ensuring compliance with Federal regulations and sound fiscal program management.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Provide technical leadership, counsel, and advise staff, and respond to inquiries regarding program issues and concerns.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies, strategies, and procedures to ensure efficient program operation.
  • Quality Assurance: Audit and analyze department tasks to ensure accuracy and quality of work performed.
  • Issue Resolution: Work to resolve issues involving staff, program participants, landlords, and citizen complaints.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Analyze and interpret Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations and Housing Authority policy to ensure departmental compliance.
  • Financial Management: Prepare budgets, review monthly financial accounting, monitor budget variances, and provide required reporting on department activities.
  • Operational Policy Development: Develop housing operational policies, procedures, and reporting guidelines for all properties under department management.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Meet with the Executive Director and Board of Commissioners to communicate information and coordinate operational efforts.
  • Strategic Planning: Using program statistics, make policy recommendations for staffing and administrative changes.
  • Special Projects: Assist the Executive Director and/or Department heads with special projects and administrative tasks.
