  • Evaluates the quality, volume, and profitability of highly intricate risks underwritten.
  • Promotes products and services through agency networks or the brokerage sector and conducts field visits.
  • Builds and sustains relationships with agencies and/or brokers representing significant producers in the assigned region.
  • Stays informed on state/territory regulations, industry developments, and trends.
  • Mentors and supports junior underwriters.
  • Employs advanced functionalities in relevant CNA systems for daily operations.
  • Oversees special underwriting initiatives and presentations.

Reporting Structure: Reports to AVP, Underwriting or higher.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  1. Expertise in technical underwriting, with a comprehensive understanding of insurance principles.
  2. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  4. Proficient in navigating ambiguous situations and challenges.
  5. Innovative in addressing unique and complex business issues.
  6. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related applications.
  7. Proven leadership qualities.

Educational Background and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience; professional designations are advantageous.
  2. Typically requires a minimum of eight years of underwriting experience.
