Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and oversight to the Medical/Surgical Unit, ensuring the delivery of optimal patient care through the coordination of clinical activities, staff supervision, and department organization.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
- Recruit, retain, and develop a high-performing team of nurses, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to provide exceptional care.
- Monitor and analyze unit performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to address them.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and hospital policies.
- Develop and maintain a positive work environment, fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and open communication.
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing with a BSN required, MSN preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience as a supervisor and acute care clinical skills.
- Current professional nurse license issued and/or recognized by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Ability to communicate in English; both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Outlook.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills required.
- Current regulatory knowledge (CMS and Joint Commission) and current evidence-based practice knowledge.
- Strong experience with service excellence culture.
