William Charles Construction is a leading provider of electrical construction services, and we are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Estimator to join our team.

The successful candidate will oversee the electrical estimating department, ensuring efficient management of estimating activities, resource allocation, and bid management for high voltage construction projects.

This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to guide staff in estimating practices and project requirements.

The Electrical Construction Estimator will work closely with other department managers to align goals and uphold corporate initiatives while fostering employee development and maintaining quality standards in estimating processes.

We offer a competitive salary range of $160,000-$180,000 per year, commensurate with experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the firm's estimating activities, including pre-bid attendance, bid management, cost databases, estimating software, and implementing/improving estimating practices.
  • Direct, plan, organize, and coordinate estimating activities to ensure timely submittals and effective communication among all disciplines and parties.
  • Work closely with the Preconstruction Manager to achieve department objectives and develop department protocol for best estimating practices.
  • Review and approve bids, specifications, drawings, and contracts to proactively solve potential issues.
  • Identify and negotiate time extensions as needed with clients.

Requirements:

  • Proven high-level construction estimating experience and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated solid presentation and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with industry-leading estimating software and understanding of contractual requirements, conceptual estimating, design drawings, and project specifications.
