Position Summary:

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, your primary responsibility will be to execute maintenance and repairs on a diverse range of cranes and heavy machinery, showcasing your expertise in a skilled and safe manner.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Performing maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of both company-owned and client equipment independently
  • Providing detailed service documentation and demonstrating equipment operation to clients

Qualifications:

Experience/Training/Education:

Required:

A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining Grove and Manitowoc Cranes. Possession of GMK Training. Willingness to travel, including overnight stays. High school diploma and a valid driver's license (CDL preferred)

Desired:

A strong background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, particularly related to cranes, extensive knowledge of crane equipment, and proficiency in interpreting schematics and diagrams for German-made AT Cranes. Ownership of relevant tools and the ability to demonstrate effective teamwork, verbal communication, and written skills. Additional certifications in factory training, especially for GMK/AT cranes, are advantageous.

Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated accountability across all job responsibilities. Ability to lead, educate, and share knowledge with colleagues. Willingness to travel within the designated area as required. Comfort working at elevated heights with a strong emphasis on safety measures. Proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and testing, with meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and data management systems. Ability to meet deadlines and comprehend instructions effectively.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

This role primarily involves field service, including both factory and outdoor work environments with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying weather conditions. Precise hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity are essential. Physical capabilities such as hand strength, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and driving are necessary. Extended periods of standing, walking, and other physical activities. Potential lifting of up to 50 pounds and working at heights may be required. Occasional travel to different locations nationally and availability for overtime are expected.

Certifications:

Mandatory possession of CDL License, factory training certifications for crawler cranes, hydraulic rough terrain, and truck cranes.
