Job Overview

Walker Engineering, Inc. is seeking a skilled electrical journeyman to join our team as a service technician in the Houston Division.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of an account manager on various electrical projects, including installations, alterations, additions, and repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical principles, applicable codes, and safety protocols, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical work to the highest standards, ensuring quality and safety.
  • Mentor and train apprentices, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
  • Complete accurate and timely service documentation, including job reports and client communication.
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Monitor project costs and work closely with account managers to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Perform small field estimates and participate in on-call rotations as required.
  • Operate and maintain company vehicles, adhering to safety and maintenance protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with Walker Engineering's safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Licenses: Electrical Journeyman's License (or Master's) required and a current Driver's License required.
  • Education: High school graduate, GED or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5+ years' of practical electrical experience in commercial electrical service work in the field.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical, and English language skills.
  • Ability to understand and apply electrical theory to installations.
  • Pass company drug-screen and physical tests and work occasional overtime as required.
  • Availability for on-call rotation is mandatory.
  • Maintain a neat and professional image at all times.
