Job Overview

Position Summary:
The Accounting Specialist role is integral to the financial operations, assisting with month-end closures, cash flow management, and the processing and approval of accounts payable, along with various general accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily monitoring of bank accounts and document outgoing transactions.

• Initiate payments, ACH transactions, and wire transfer templates for banking purposes.

• Generate and finalize accounts payable cutoff reports for the preceding month.

• Address purchase order corrections related to cost discrepancies.

• Reconcile credit card expenditures.

• Prepare journal entries as required.

• Oversee vendor onboarding, manage supplier invoices, process excise tax payments, and handle freight invoices.

• Execute check runs for all wire transfers and electronic funds transfers.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of experience in an accounting or reporting capacity.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced skills in Excel.

• Previous accounting experience, ideally within a distribution setting.

• Experience in a multi-location operational environment is advantageous.

Physical Demands:
In the execution of this role, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently engages in standing, walking, and using hands for various tasks, along with reaching and manipulating objects. Occasionally, the employee may need to sit, climb, balance, or perform bending and stooping activities. The role may require lifting and/or moving items up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Specific vision requirements include the ability to see clearly at various distances and to adjust focus as necessary.
