Job Summary

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping patients/residents/clients achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. You will work under the supervision of an occupational therapist to provide therapy services and assist patients with daily activities. Your expertise will help patients overcome physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments, and you will be responsible for documenting their progress and communicating with the occupational therapist. Responsibilities
  • Assist patients/residents/clients with therapy activities and exercises as scheduled in a treatment plan
  • Monitor and record therapy services to patients/residents/clients with physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial impairments
  • Select, implement, and modify therapeutic activities and interventions based on patient's/resident's/client's goals and competency levels
  • Document patient's/resident's/client's responses to and communications during intervention
  • Provide information and documentation related to outcome achievement
Requirements
  • Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) of practice
  • Certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) when working at a Sanford Health Facility
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
