We are seeking a highly skilled Metallurgical Engineer to join our team at ATI's Monroe, NC production facility. As a key member of our Specialty Materials business unit, you will be responsible for product engineering, resolving metallurgical issues, and developing improvements to existing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review customer specifications and support sales teams by approving customer quotes
  • Create and implement items, recipes, mill instructions, and other quality system documents for Ni bar products
  • Support certifications and testing of Ni bar orders and shipments
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement tools throughout the manufacturing process of Ni bar products, leading to increased yield, better quality, and reduced costs
  • Provide technical support to commercial teams during customer engagement for both on-site and off-site meetings
  • Communicate results to management, colleagues, and customers in the form of written reports and oral presentations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Materials Science Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Working knowledge of wrought processing (i.e., conventional melting, press forging, radial forging, hot rolling, conditioning, heat treatment, etc.) preferred
  • Must be comfortable meeting with customers, presenting at technical meetings, and willing to travel (2-4 times per year)
  • Must be enthusiastic, excited about tackling challenges, and comfortable with working in a continuous improvement environment
