Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiologic procedures under the direction of a Radiologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Radiologic Procedures: Conduct basic to advanced radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, pain clinic, GI lab, urology, and c-arm procedures.
  • Communicate with Patients: Explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm patient understanding, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Position Patients and Select Exposure Factors: Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, providing patient radiation protection and safety.
  • Process Images and Maintain Records: Identify patient and label images, compare requisitions to physician's orders, and process images to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Assist Radiologists and Work Independently: Assist Radiologists, work independently outside the department, and communicate with providers.
  • Prepare and Maintain Records: Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
Requirements
  • Radiographer License: Hold a Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist Registration: Be registered as a Registered Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support Certification: Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced Training: Possess advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • Functional Experience: Typically require 2 years of experience in a Radiologic Technologist role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in Radiology Positioning and Techniques: Be proficient in radiology positioning and techniques, aseptic techniques, and C-arm.
  • Knowledge of Radiation Safety and Radiology Equipment: Have advanced knowledge of radiation safety and radiology equipment.
  • Knowledge of Specialty Physician Protocols: Have knowledge of specialty physician protocols and ability to work effectively with diverse providers.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients, and other staff members.
