About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer 4 - Water to join our team at Solvenow Inc. as a key member of our Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Execution: Execute complex structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, and other complex structural facilities.
  • Team Collaboration: Work within a team of Structural Engineers (both in the US and in overseas offices) to execute projects, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Construction Phase Engineering: Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFIs, and review of contractor submittals, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Project Administration: Perform project administrative tasks, which may include preparation of design fee estimates, monitoring progress against budget and schedule, management of project changes, and implementation of Quality Control requirements.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate work with architects and other discipline engineers, ensuring a cohesive and integrated design.
  • Project Leadership: Ability to lead a team to execute moderately complex projects with construction values of up to $10M, ensuring timely completion and quality delivery.
  • Compliance and Quality: Understand and follow departmental standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement efforts, identifying areas for process enhancement and implementing changes as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensure: Licensed as a Professional Engineer in an US state, by examination.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency with use of non-structural software packages such as Bluebeam, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the latest editions of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 350, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 530.
  • Structural Analysis: Proficiency with use of structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAADPro, or SAP 2000.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
  • Licensure: For this position, you must have a valid PE license.
